Posted on Friday, September 28, 2007 at 12:50pm CDT

The Texas Advanced Computing Center has just approved our allocation requestion for Lonestar, a 5,840-core supercomputer that is current ranked the 15th fastest supercomputer in the world, according to the June 2007 top500.org listing. With this resource, we anticipate producing cutting-edge simulations of tumor growth in large, complex, realistic virtual human tissue, allowing for new insight in tissue invasion, angiogenesis, and other cancer-related problems. We're grateful for the resources that are available to us as part of the U.T. system.
