SHIS : Vittorio Cristini's Laboratory Website

Home

Hello!

You have reached the website for Vittorio Cristini's research lab at the School of Health Information Sciences here at the University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston.

We are a growing group with a focus in applying methods of biomedical engineering, applied mathematics, and state-of-the-art scientific computing to medical problems. Key interests include: developing multiscale (subcellular to tissue) models of DCIS (a breast cancer) with the goal of creating patient-calibrated surgical planning tools; melding mechanical tissue modeling with multiscale models of cell stress and death to better understand and treat traumatic brain injury (TBI); calibrating leading three-dimensional, multiscale models of glioblastoma (a brain cancer) to individual patients; and others.

We work closely by leaders in many universities and medical centers around the world, including M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas at Austin, University of California at Irvine, Princeton University, University of Dundee (Dundee, Scotland), Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh, Scotland), the University of Naples (Naples, Italy), and others.

We will post introductions to these projects in the coming months. In the meantime, you can learn more by reading about us, reading our publications, and meeting our group here. Thanks for your interest, and please visit frequently!
